The FIRST random post of the year!

A break from all the Summer in Singapore posts.

I've been the mum of the house these days, even though my REAL mum's in town for a week! Cooking and watching drama and cooking and sleeping for the whole week it's crazy man. == I'm practically in the apron for half the day!!! I don't want to miss out on my youthhh... Don't do this to me already my sister and my boyfriend and my mother.. Jess wants to have fun! She's only 22 this year leh, not 44! Gees. Okay, I'm exaggerating. Mum had been a great help with rearranging stuff at our new place and just making the apartment look a whole lot neater! Thanks mum! You're the best! (;

Talking about dramas, I've finished Season 4 of Grey's Anatomy and Season 1 of Gossip Girl and just started on Season 4 of House just this week! How exciting, right? I'm such an in mum (what the..) == Don't take that for real. Grey's ended kinda abruptly I actually thought there was more to come. So that was kinda disappointing. And Gossip Girl is SO GOSSIPY ohmygoodness. But the last episode makes me (and most of my other friends watching it) wanting to catch Season 2 so badly! And for House, as usual, that nutty doc is still on the loose and is still being very unethical and super sarcastic and funny all the time. Although I must say that the cases that House handles are VERY rare... I don't think it's my lake of medical knowledge, but the names of the diagnoses are like super long foreign names. :\

Anyho. School officially starts next Monday! Was speaking with Halim on MSN an hour ago (GOSH it's been a long time since we last chatted!) and was telling him how excited I was for school to start. Guess what he said. "I thought only nerds and geeks get excited for school to reopen?"

==" Thanks alot, Halim.

School's different from us 4th yrs, cos... We're doing clinicals starting this year! Which means I get to go around the hospital and taking histories from patients, writing up long cases, doing presentations, stammering to get the right words to say to the registrars when they start shooting questions like noone's business. Okay, I'm scaring myself already I should stop.

I can feel the same ol' crampy feeling at my abdominal area again. Argh. No wonder I've been having those crazy mood swings these days.. Poor boyfriend.

Jen's coming back soon and yes Jen, we gotta meet up! And of course, yum char at Golden Harvest ya? Anyway, I have to show you this really odd CREATURE in GH's fish tank!!!!!! I don't actually know its species. All I can say is that it's white with a little bit of pinkish pigmentation on its head, got a huge head, as big as 1 1/2 of my palm, has 4 FEET OMG, HAS A LONG TAIL OMG. And I don't know what on earth that is. Looks like a lizard looking thing, and a fish, and a big as tadpole. My sister just calls it the albino tadpole. =="" It looked cute to me at first with its little fins on its head moving with the flow of the water like a baby dragon, but after staring at it a little longer, it looks kinda gross.. like an albino tadpole. ==

OMG!!!!!!!!!! Guess what? I just Googled 'white fish with legs' and found a picture of that seriously gross looking animal!!!! Anyway, check it out!

That albino tadpole looks EXACTLY like this fellow here! Anyway, this weird looking animal is called the Axolotl (pronounced Ax-oh-lot-ul), scientific name Ambystoma mexicanum. Okay, can I clarify this? Australians and NZers actually KNOW this animal?! According to this website, Aussies and Kiwis call this the Mexican walking fish. Eew. Then why is that my first time seeing it... And funnily, in a Chinese restaurant?!

Oh gosh, a whole tank of them.

Anyway, they're a kind of salamander. No wonder they look so.. Weird. I'm so sorry to animal lovers who like this animal.. I just found it kinda freaky. And guess what? I'm still gonna patronize GH for its dim sum despite this animal being there hahaha.

Okay I'm very sleepy now I'm gonna end this crazily long post. Bye all.

Summer 2007 (II)

This summer, I also:

15) Saw the return of our country's sportsmen from the very recent SEA games held in Thailand. Coincidentally at the airport. ==

16) Got my first ever Christmas tree (which is taller than me) at home! Woopie! I was a happy girl.

17) Got to visit the institution that my brother will be in for the next 4 years - Singapore Sports School. All I can say to those in SSS is - better make use of the country's money wisely. Hurhur.

18) Skated at Fuji Ice Stadium for the 2nd time! I wonder if the ice stadium at the all-new Leisure Park is open again... Hmm.. After 2 skate-free years, I think my performance that day wasn't too bad! Teeheehee.

19) Attended Thazin's very very special 21st birthday party with the theme - Nerds Evo. As much as I don't want to post this pic up, I actually put in lotsa effort into my costume that day. I'm such a nerd it's freaky.

20) Visited our local tourist attraction, Sentosa, with the family and my sister's... ex (ahem.) when he came around for a week. I had fun carrying an extremely fat python and got to watch the very pretty musical fountain (didn't quite like the storyline though. more for kids in my point of view)!

21) Slacked at nEbo game cafe @ AMK Hub with half of Eifer, supposedly to do 2 persons' birthday collage/card but ended up just playing and having fun.. HAHA. I think we kinda had this same situation like 28947 times within a month. Ask the Chungie and the Mel, they'd know. ROFL.

Oh, just had a great laugh over what they named their ice cream combos, I think they just mean single or double scoops.. HAHA. And I HAVE to add the last photo with Chungie 自恋-ing because I reckon that's the most 自恋 photo I've seen from her yet! DON'T KILL ME, CHUNGIE!!! I know you love me. /innocent smile. Anyway! nEbo - great games, not-too-bad food, just their chocolate waffles that Jon tried.. TOO SWEET! Haha!

22) Celebrated Christmas at my place with Eifer enjoying good food, Wii-ing (that just sounds wrong!), laughing and just having a good time. MAN I MISS EIFER ):

23) Got James and myself Fossil watches. Pretty/handsome right... I know. ;)

24) Visited Changi Airport's Terminal 3 (where I departed from exactly 2 weeks ago!) to film a very very short birthday clip for Hui Ling. I'm sorry Jen for the quite unglam picture of yours, but this was the only photo with the word 'DEPARTURE' there!!

More Food Galore:

8) The all-famous ice cream parlour aka family restaurant - Swensen's. Had its Caesar salad which was not too bad, and some Gold Rush to satisfy my sweet tooth :B

9) Char Kway Teow. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Although I must say that it doesn't appeal to me as much as it did a few years back. Looks like my taste buds have 'upgraded'. Nah, shouldn't say that.. Cos CKT is our local delicacy!

10) Never miss freshly made sugarcane juice each time I come back home, despite the many nasty stories I've heard. (hint: something about cats walking past the sugarcane at night and tinkling... okay period.)

11) My another all time favourite - Rojak!!! Crispy 油条,crunchy veges and peanut, chewy tau pok... MMMMmmmmmmm. :9

12) After filming that not-so-long birthday clip for Hui Ling, we had to satisfy our tummy at Sakae Sushi. I don't think it's overrated, I'm just wondering how on earth did it manage to open so many branches in such a small country!

13) Instead of saying we're were pangseh-ed by Shuo, we shall just say that Shuo missed out our yumyum lunch at 鼎泰丰. Actually, I prefer its traditional Chinese characters. The name just looks all wrong in Simplified. 小笼包 and its 小菜 and Drunken Chicken a must-order for us.

Actually had 鼎泰丰 twice this time I'm back. The other time was with the 301 classmates! (: (Sorry guys, we all look distorted in the very irritating-ly pixelated Facebook picture! And omg I look pregnant in that photo!!!!)

14) After yumyum lunch at 鼎泰丰, Joan and I pampered ourselves at Azabu Sabo for some Japanese dessert. And some cam whoring. ROFL. Good times, good times. Green tea ice cream never tasted this way for such a longgg time. Been a green tea fan for sooo long. Green tea Frap at Starbucks, green tea wafer biscuits, green tea ice cream, looking for recipes of green tea swiss roll, muffin and every other pastry. My love for green tea will never cease... Am I scaring you cos' I see you shivering.

15) Met up with my wonderful primary school friends for lunch at Thai Express! I'm so ashamed to announce that it was my first time dining at Thai Express! Had the famous Phad Thai noodles and it's actually very yummy! We are JAAC = Jess, Abby, Aud (whichever order you want!) and Chuns. Friends for 14 years! I have to look for old primary school photos man.. But they're all back in SG... ):

Man, I think my summer was just so full of events I'm tired after this post already and it ain't over yet!!! Watch out for this space once again. (X

Summer 2007 (I)

This summer, I:

1) Was introduced to the all-new Ang Mo Kio Hub! Now shopping can be done in flip-flops and pjs without (much) staring.

2) Was recommended by Qi the yummiest 拉面 I've ever tasted. Still unsure of the name but it's the cheapest and simplest 拉面 @ Crystal Jade. Fried onion 拉面?Unsure.

3) Got my own stethoscope - a Littman Classic S.E II Burgundy stethoscope!

4) Was invited to Qi's 21st! Food for Thought is a cosy little cafe @ Bugis, where you can spend your weekend chatting and appreciating the delicious foods they cater.

5) Realised that Mum's taste for flats is awesome. (unfortunately I wasn't able to smuggle them back to NZ, cos mum loves them ><) 6) Finally cut my hair short, after 2 years. And loving it! (I cut my hair a 2nd time before I came back again. Now it's a different style!)

7) Had to look after AJ who got wobbly and couldn't walk nor stand for a day and was better after that. Recent news from my brother yesterday was that his leg was inflammed. Hmm. Abit vague but I'm quite worried about AJ!!!!! >< 8) Met up with my SISTEL Josephine, who's back in CHCH now.. My shopping buddy! Wait for me @ CHCH! Our shopping won't end in NZ!

9) Was fortunate enough to be able to appreciate the beautiful lightings along Orchard Road. (:

10) Along with the rest of my family, had to babysit our cousin's dog, Melody!

11) Met up with Joan and Shuo my 2 crazy AC pals for countless of times (except those times when Shuo was 'sick') and had so much good food!

12) Finally met my brother's one and only surviving hermit crab for real - Velocity. Oh, wait. Is it Peace. I forgot which was the one that died. Oops.

13) Got to celebrate Stephie's mini birthday lunch at Boss Restaurant!

14) Finally met up with my dearest cousins and had international buffet at Fairmont Hotel that night.

Food Galore!

1) Bought Roti Prata from Jalan Kayu, but didn't even have a bite. Yeah, the whole time I was in SG. Sucks.

2) Duck rice!! OH GOSH I LOVE DUCK MEAT 1314. (what the..)

3) Food for Thought - nice and cosy eatery/cafe. They provide western food and the price is fairly reasonable.

3) Jumbo Seafood twice in a month! And both times with the family! Ah Ma!!! (X

4) My favouritest hang out place - Starbucks. No matter which part of the world I'm in.

5) Ya Kun Kaya Toast.. Mmmmm~~ (gosh, my tummy's rumbling already!!!)

6) HAD to have Bak Kut Teh after my aunt and I watched a food variety show whereby the host was researching so much about BKT she was visiting several BKT shops. I was salivating that night and had to have some BKT the next morning! (what a glutton, jess)

7) Boss Restaurant. Wasn't allowed to take any photos of the food, but I must say that their dim sum are creative, new and yummy. Not recommended for those who prefer the traditional dim sum.

That's it for now. Stayed tuned for more of Jessica's summer vacation adventure! =.=
