Gray's Anatomy. HAHAHA.

It's been a while since I last updated, and also slept well! Hahaha.

James has been down with a cold (or so we thought), and he had fever for 2 days straight.. Fever didn't go down after 2 days. Instead, it ROSE. How freaky could that be... Rose up to almost 40deg.. Man, I don't even think I ever had such a high fever before. Gees. To me, the common cold is just.. COMMON. Plenty of rest, plenty of water, plenty of paracetamol and ibuprofen will just do the job! But no... Despite me popping tablets after tablets into his mouth, he continued suffering from fever, and also some symptoms which included joint pain, blocked nose, breathlessness, sore throat, fever, fatigue, decreased appetite, nose bleed.. Until he decided to go to see the doctor at 6am in the morning (Yeah, I had to stay over at his place to take care of him).

MAN.. Urgent doc was closed, so we went straight to Emergency Department at the hospital. We waited for quite awhile before his bloods and chest X-RAY were out. Poor James didn't just have the common cold, but he's got Pneumonia. omgomgomg. Something I actually LEARNT last year! Didn't think it'd happen so quickly. -.- Chest infection at the base of his right lobe of his lung. Shadowing was seen there in his X-RAY, so... He was given antibiotics (Roxithromycin) to take home and off we went! Free of charge for the trip there, and antibiotics from the pharmacy was only 3 freaking bucks. How cool man.. It's great being a NZ citizen/PR. Teeheehee.

For those who are interested! Wiki-ed this!

Roxithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. It is used to treat respiratory tract, urinary and soft tissue infections. Roxithromycin is derived from erythromycin, containing the same 14-membered lactone ring. However, an N-oxime side chain is attached to the lactone ring.

He's resting right now.. Still with an empty stomach even though he was complaining that he was super hungry in the hospital. Well, I guess rest was his top priority so off to bed he went!

Me? Got a sore throat after looking after him for 2 days straight, but it's nothing compared to his chest infection.. You'll see panda jess walking around school (oh I missed school the whole day cos we were at ED) for the next few days.. Towel-ing and giving him cups of water and administration of tabs and comforting him were some stuff I had to do during the 2 nights. Tiring, but hopefully he gets well soon.. Very poor James.. Waking up in the middle of the night just to towel him or fan him wasn't easy.. I had to force myself up and do those without saying much.. It's worth it, since his fever's subsided, and he's sleeping very soundly now. (:

We were at ED for almost 7hours and he kept convincing me that I was enjoying myself there, looking at how the registrar did the neurological examination on him, how she placed a cannula into his right elbow to get blood outta him, how she placed her stethoscope on his chest to listen for crepitations(?), how to operate the bed, trying to diagnose other patients at ED who was coughing like mad, or just looked perfectly fine etcetc. Honestly, I was really enjoying myself (in a way), but the MAIN purpose I was there was to bring my sick bf to the hospital ma! What's so bad about that.. LOL.

SO! His results - BP was normal, heart rate was increased, but decreased after some rest at ED, WBC increased due to infection, and shadowing of base of right lung. Dx: Pneumonia.

DAMN FAKE LAH LOL.

My lil sis aka Janice and her bf also sick too! Down with the flu.. They've been sick for a couple of days too.. But their condition's slightly different from James'. I really pray that all of them will get well soon!!!!! And for me, to stay healthier so I can take care of them (or just James for now). Man, winter.. Not a fun season at all.

SUMMER... WHERE ARE YOU...

OUT!
