My brother, our future bowling star?

So Jon's off to live with the other future sports stars @ the boarding school on Tuesday night. It was kinda funny, because that night we went out to grab a bite at AMK, but somehow I felt a tinge of strange silence in the car. No more 'two cents worth' from Jon, and no more crackles and awfully lame jokes from him. It was just, odd.

And thus, I've come to a conclusion that my brother, albeit naughty and ridiculous and idiotic and irritating at times, will always be my cute little brother.

Now I understand why he misses us so much when we both fly off to moo moo land, leaving him alone at home. ):

I still find it unacceptable for kids of 13 years old to be treated as if they're in the National Army, start training at 6am, classes till noon, training after that, supervised studying at night, then lights off after that. And they can only come out of school on Friday at 6/7pm.

Still, these kids will definitely be very disciplined and will eye on their goals always. That's a good thing about how the sports school works. My brother probably needs this kind of training to grow up into a mature, determined MAN. (Eew, my brother becoming a MAN! ARH!)

I've heard about Singaporeans complaining about the government investing a truck load of money on these little talents. I guess it's inevitable, but hopefully we'll all give our little sport stars some encouragement and hope, because they're still our future, even if they're not going to be competing in their specialised sports.

(:
