Photos!

Photos that were supposed to be up AGES ago! There you go! I think I can be labelled the 'fan girl' already. You'll understand as you browse through the photos. (:

Mooncake Festival Night 中秋晚會 (22/09)

* 我現在在學注音!請多多指教!! ^^ *

The fan I used during our fan dance!

Dancers that night! LOVE ALL OF YOU! And huge thanks to Kar Wai and Hooi Xian for being such great teachers! (:(:(:

Med Cultural Night (27/09)

8 of us girls from the Med 3 class came up with a Korean traditional fan dance. It was AWESOME. The hanbok (Korean traditional dress) was so pretty!!! And the fans were very pretty too. I enjoyed my time both at practices and on the actual day. Hurray!

Spot me in the photos! ;)

We made formations in the dance, and some of them are:

The wave

Huge flower!

Lyds came to watch the show! (:

And so did James. -blush- HAHAHAHAHAHA.

The Korean dance WITH A TWIST in the middle - a fast dance which was more like twisting and rolling of bodies. HAHA. We had a few seconds in between the 2 dances to get changed from hanbok to the other outfit.. Thanks to Queenie's mum, I was up and ready to go for both dances. Yay!

Fast dance!

There! Abit late but better than no photos.. LOL.

Hugs and SUPER WET KISSES from James (andI)! HAHAHA.

Rain on me.

Okay, this is just gonna beblahblahblahblah coming out from me. I'm feeling kinda down right now so just let me rant..

Good friends are hard to come by.. But whenever we meet someone whom we think we can click with, we cherish it and try to give our best to them. Recently I feel more and more distant from my church friends.. I recall last year when we had good times together.. We have good times together, talking over coffee or just bumming around having fun.. We have bad times together too, struggling with studies and conflicts because of some nonsensical stuff..
All the board games, baking through the night, chatting, shopping, birthday surprises, mini parties just for fun, eating and eating and eating.. Rarara.. Somehow everything's changed.. Even though we're still friends, we're still brothers and sisters in Christ, but then the bond.. That kind of relationship that I cherished so very much.. It's gone.

I don't want to think of reasons why it happened, because it probably is just something that happened..naturally. Maybe.. Maybe not....................... Maybe it's just me.

Not making any assumptions or whatsoever. Not wanting anyone to make any ammendments or changes or how they treat me. I just feel left out from everything. Period.

Boo.

And we're back to the boring old template. Don't know what happened to the pretty one with flowers.. ): No time to edit my template so I shall just make do with this!

Exams in less than 2 months' time and everyone around me is freaking me OUT! Don't even have that push to study just yet... GRR. Badbadbad.

The sweetest thing.

Today started slightly bad.. Had a late night because I was attempting to squeeze all those annoying zits on my face. Okay, the whole night wasn't taken by that, but I slept at freakin' 2am and I woke up this morning thinking that the earth was revolving much faster than normal! My head was spinning and gosh, it was just awful. But everything was reversed, thanks to lydia lim mei yin (haha, i just lurve saying her full name i dunno why). Had lovely breakie with the sweetest lyds! Capers-ed with lydsy just made the whole disgusting episode disappear. (:(:(: We just talked our hearts out while we dug our faces into our breakfast. Though it was a short meet up (just an hour isn't enough!), it was definitely a fulfilling one. I MISS YOU ALREADY LYDS. Can't wait for our rugby world cup date tomorrow night (oh, and oggling of cute guys HAHA)! Oh, and did I mention that we have sister cars right now?! My 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage and her 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage? See the similarity? LOL. Okay, I think I'm just exhilrated over her having a car of her own! And it's a black one! Must be really cool. (:

Lyds told me about her job at the primary school she's currently working at, and I must say that I'm so happy that she's found a job she really likes, and, man, she gets to interact and play with little kids EVERYDAY!!!! I wanna do that tooo!!!!! I've always wanted to be a teacher, but I think mum's gonna kill me if I walk down that path right now! =X Thinking of doing teacher relief or working part time at a child care centre when I go back to Singapore at the end of this year, but I don't know where to start from! Any clues, anyone?

Walked Lyds to the bus stop and while strolling back to Med library, I attempted to press the traffic button thingy before the light turned red, but was beaten by a tall and built man. He smiled to me and said, "Got it!". But to our dismay, both of us were too slow, so the green man didn't appear. He laughed and said, "Oh well, we tried our best!" I just laughed with him as we both crossed the roads together. I can see that I really like the Kiwi culture - everyone being so casual and friendly. Cashiers at the supermarket, strangers on the roads, little kids at the mall just naturally start a conversation with me. It's a nice feeling, I must say. Of course, there may be situations which I simply can't imagine being in (like a drunkard throwing a glass bottle towards me at night!), but I must admit that it is not surprising that I would stay in NZ to pursure my career.

Singapore is still my home, but I don't know if I will start comparing both NZ and SG and start complaining about the SG culture, espeically after being here for almost 4 years. What does the future holds for me? I don't know myself, but we'll wait and see. (:

ACJC!

Just joined the currently most happening friends network - Facebook! No, I really hope I won't get addicted to it like what everyone says...

Anyway, I just joined the ACJC group, and saw the description of ACJC. It actually placed a smile on my face! Those days.. Lol.. The super slack days in AC.. Fun man. I won't put the entire description here, but will pick some.. Those that does apply to me.. ENJOY GUYS, especially those from ACJC! LOL.

You know you're from ACJC when..

- You have the hottest guys/girls in town

- Almost half of your friends speak Chinese worse than AngMoh

- Your pants is hanging on to your butt like it's holding on to dear life

- Your skirt is a mini-skirt... Plus your shirt is never tucked in but you pretend it is

- It takes you 18 years to realize the majority listen to Chinese music

- You start running out of class once your friends start singing "Happy Birthday", then you find yourself in the pool naked after they catch you

- When other people give you funny looks when you say the coolest place is the void deck.

- You call the stands, the bleachers.

- I can ask you if she's really the RJC prom queen and you know exactly who I'm talking about

- When you rejoice and jump up and down in LT4 after receiving a C6 for Chinese, shouting "thank you Lord!" and see people running towards you with congratulatory hugs

- You know that "mass pe" is just a cover for "mass suicide".

- When you think a 4-minute cab ride to Holland Village is perfectly acceptable and commonly practised!

- You have climbed down the side of the school near the canteen, through the fence behind the tennis courts or conned the guard with fake mc 'cause you're late

- You just can't stop drinking Milo!

Size do matter.. In NZ.

Grr. It's not fun seeing a dress that you really really like, but there's absolutely no way to get it. Not because I got no money, but because the sizes are too BIG.

Seriously, NZ boutiques need to import more smaller sizes! I don't reckon that I'm very small (even though I'm still a S in SG), but I do think there is a DEMAND for smaller sizes!!!

This afternoon I spent about an hour shopping for a ball dress (if I could find a nice one). Saw a couple at a few shops.. But the dresses looked as if they were draped on.. Like I was a clothes hanger. It's utterly disappointing.

'Is size 8 the smallest?' I asked the sales assistant. 'Yes, I'm afraid so' would be the reply I'd get.

Went to another shop, and they had size 6! Awesome, right? No. Size 6 was still too big for me. The sales assistant of that boutique said I could well be a size 4.

But who's ever heard of size 4s in NZ?! Smallest size I've ever seen is 6. It's funny though. When I shop at Glasson's/Portmans I can fit into the smallest size perfectly.. But when it comes to dresses it's like a totally different thing.

Yarr!

Daniel Yam would be the peeeerfect shop to be at right now. Too bad they haven't got a branch here.

Sucks.

THE SIMPSONS!!!!!

WANNA WATCH WANNA WATCH WANNA WATCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Cool, Korean poster!

Damn, the donut's tempting me to go to KO's donuts!!!!! (Too bad it's closed now... Aww.)

Saw the preview of the movie when I watch Transformers (SUPER GD SHOW TOO), and all I remember was 'SPIDER PIG! SPIDER PIG!' Hahahaha. That already made me laugh my pants off (not literally, of cos!). (: Wanted to watch yesterday (cos it was the day we pay only 9bucks for movie tix!) but it was sold out by the time we got there. LAME. Can only watch next week after James is done with his assignment... ): Saw the bottle they're selling though! SO CUTEEEEEEEEE! Will take a photo of it once I get it muahahaha. (X

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

My turn..

To be sick. Right after blogging about James (previous post), I got the fever that night.. And the following night.. And the night after.. Until today. Hopefully I won't get the fever again tonight.. Feel so weak and crappy and all I wanna do is sleep.. Head hurts so badly and I just can't get down to do anything these days. It's terrible and sad. I feel useless and everything is piling up... I've got so many activities in mind, but all may have to be postponed because I'm sick..

BUT, on the good side (Thank God for that!)..

.. Yours truly is staying back in Dunedin for my clinicals! (: yayyayyayyayyay.

Events coming up!

  • Med Revue! Anticipating some sick med jokes from our class! Hope it's not gonna be very lame...
  • National Day lunch.. Hmm.. What am I gonna be cooking......... Can't wait to taste SG food again.. It's been awhile.. Unless you count kaya toast lah.. I have that like twice a week..
  • Med BALL! (: It's gonna be our final year together! Have to go have to go!
  • Back to CAL tests and blah
  • MID SEM BREAK! HAHA.
CAN'T WAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

Gray's Anatomy. HAHAHA.

It's been a while since I last updated, and also slept well! Hahaha.

James has been down with a cold (or so we thought), and he had fever for 2 days straight.. Fever didn't go down after 2 days. Instead, it ROSE. How freaky could that be... Rose up to almost 40deg.. Man, I don't even think I ever had such a high fever before. Gees. To me, the common cold is just.. COMMON. Plenty of rest, plenty of water, plenty of paracetamol and ibuprofen will just do the job! But no... Despite me popping tablets after tablets into his mouth, he continued suffering from fever, and also some symptoms which included joint pain, blocked nose, breathlessness, sore throat, fever, fatigue, decreased appetite, nose bleed.. Until he decided to go to see the doctor at 6am in the morning (Yeah, I had to stay over at his place to take care of him).

MAN.. Urgent doc was closed, so we went straight to Emergency Department at the hospital. We waited for quite awhile before his bloods and chest X-RAY were out. Poor James didn't just have the common cold, but he's got Pneumonia. omgomgomg. Something I actually LEARNT last year! Didn't think it'd happen so quickly. -.- Chest infection at the base of his right lobe of his lung. Shadowing was seen there in his X-RAY, so... He was given antibiotics (Roxithromycin) to take home and off we went! Free of charge for the trip there, and antibiotics from the pharmacy was only 3 freaking bucks. How cool man.. It's great being a NZ citizen/PR. Teeheehee.

For those who are interested! Wiki-ed this!

Roxithromycin is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. It is used to treat respiratory tract, urinary and soft tissue infections. Roxithromycin is derived from erythromycin, containing the same 14-membered lactone ring. However, an N-oxime side chain is attached to the lactone ring.

He's resting right now.. Still with an empty stomach even though he was complaining that he was super hungry in the hospital. Well, I guess rest was his top priority so off to bed he went!

Me? Got a sore throat after looking after him for 2 days straight, but it's nothing compared to his chest infection.. You'll see panda jess walking around school (oh I missed school the whole day cos we were at ED) for the next few days.. Towel-ing and giving him cups of water and administration of tabs and comforting him were some stuff I had to do during the 2 nights. Tiring, but hopefully he gets well soon.. Very poor James.. Waking up in the middle of the night just to towel him or fan him wasn't easy.. I had to force myself up and do those without saying much.. It's worth it, since his fever's subsided, and he's sleeping very soundly now. (:

We were at ED for almost 7hours and he kept convincing me that I was enjoying myself there, looking at how the registrar did the neurological examination on him, how she placed a cannula into his right elbow to get blood outta him, how she placed her stethoscope on his chest to listen for crepitations(?), how to operate the bed, trying to diagnose other patients at ED who was coughing like mad, or just looked perfectly fine etcetc. Honestly, I was really enjoying myself (in a way), but the MAIN purpose I was there was to bring my sick bf to the hospital ma! What's so bad about that.. LOL.

SO! His results - BP was normal, heart rate was increased, but decreased after some rest at ED, WBC increased due to infection, and shadowing of base of right lung. Dx: Pneumonia.

DAMN FAKE LAH LOL.

My lil sis aka Janice and her bf also sick too! Down with the flu.. They've been sick for a couple of days too.. But their condition's slightly different from James'. I really pray that all of them will get well soon!!!!! And for me, to stay healthier so I can take care of them (or just James for now). Man, winter.. Not a fun season at all.

SUMMER... WHERE ARE YOU...

It's not easy.

It's not easy.

It's not easy to approach her.
It's not easy to approach and ask her.
It's not easy to approach and ask for her permission.
It's not easy to approach and ask for her permission about something I know she won't allow.

I stumble.
I stumble and trip.
I stumble and trip over my words.
I stumble and trip over my words I want to get outta my head.
I stumble and trip over my words I want to get outta my head, but I didn't.

I kept mute.
I kept mute and suffer.
I kept mute and suffer the consequence of not asking her.
I kept mute and suffer the consequence of not asking her, praying hard to God to give me the strength to approach her again.

I must be strong.
I must be strong and brave.
I must be strong and brave for God.
I must be strong and brave for God, till I enter the gate of Heaven.
