Jap food all the wayyy.

Went to look for my 知己 (aka good buddy) Xue Qi for a ramen date! Hahaha. Well, I was craving for ramen for awhile now, so after staying at home for sooo many days, I've decided to climb out of my hermit shell and expose myself to the public! Hahaha. I'm mad.

Qi recommended this ramen shop to me, and it's called Kyo Nichi. I don't know if there are other branches around Singapore, but the shop is located at Marina Square! I haven't been there since it was renovated a year ago, so everything just seemed brand new to me all over again. Yeah, feeling tourist-y yet again. What to do, I have been sua ku-ed.

Qi also said that the ramen soup base is UBER good, so we both had the char siew ramen with THICK soup base. It was soooooooooooooooooo oishii ne (delicious!)! I'm no food expert, but I can say that the soup base is really yummy, and the char siew.... mmmmm, MAMAMIA! LOL.

A bowl of char siew ramen costs $12. Abit price-y, but it's worth the 12 bucks cos' both of us couldn't finish our ramen (= alot), soup is super yummy, and char siew is damn nice.

Maybe it's the location, but there aren't many customers in the shop. Qi said yesterday was her 4th time visiting Kyo Nichi, but there were always so few customers, she was afraid it may close down eventually. So please go support this restaurant so we can all enjoy its yummy ramen!! Arigato!

Marina Square is soooo good too! So many shops and not alot of people, thus shopping becomes more enjoyable. It's got Zara, MNG, Diva, Miss Selfridge, TopShop etc. Good stuff. Oh, and I just realised that MNG is having a sale now (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), BUT I don't have enough money so I can't even go shopping. Damn! So both Qi and I just browsed around and commented on anything we think is worth commenting on. Hurhur. If there was an item we SUPER like, we'll start criticizing it so we'll be able to put it down and MOVE ON. Yeah, the life of the not-so-rich. Fret not! Because when we both start working, we won't be so pathetic anymore! Whaha.

Azabu Sabo!

Qi then treated me to dessert at Azabu Sabo too! PLEASE GO AND TRY IT'S DESSERT!! IT IS SOOO GOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!

The menu. Look at the variety!

Apparently it's quite famous and it has branches in Japan, Taiwan and Singapore, and the desserts.. Oh my goodness, the sweetness and how it slips down your throat, ultra yummy! We were both quite full, so we decided to try only 1 dessert, and trust me, it was more than enough because we walked out feeling like 2 pregnant ladies. HAHA.

We ordered item no. 1008 on the menu. HAHAHAHAHA. The desserts were all in Jap names, so I don't remember the exact name for it, but it's got vanilla ice cream with sweet potato and red bean paste. ARHHH! I WANNA HAVE IT AGAIN! The blending of all the 3 ingredients - 赞!Ichiban!

Item #1008. DAMN GOOD.

You can also try its green tea ice cream, quite expensive but apparently very famous. Go give your taste buds a good time at Marina Square!

As big as a UFO saucer.

Something I need to declare!

I have an ENORMOUS face.

Haha. Well, I think it can't be helped, because I've had this XXXL size face since forever. Lol.

So out of 10 photos, in 8 of them you can see the difference in how much bigger my face is as compared to other people. Like a FISHBALL. -bouncing around-

Something I drew while talking to Tuck my cousin just now.

Oh well. Don't worry, Jess! Your huge face makes you UNIQUE. Hur hur.

~*~*~*~*~*

Thanks to everyone who expressed their concerns for me the sick patient. I feel better today, but still suffering from a headache I got since yesterday. And my HUGE appetite is back, so don't worry, I'm definitely not losing weight. Haha. Yay!

Help.

I've been staying home for almost 3 days now, because I don't feel very good these days. Can someone diagnose me?

I feel very weak. Initially, I feel this way only when I step out of my house, but today, I feel weak the moment I got up.

My appetite's been very poor. I haven't been eating alot because I find it very tiring and sometimes I feel nauseous. But I haven't vomited just yet. However, drinking fluids is not a problem for me. I can drink, but not chew.

Just this morning, I poo-ed thrice. First time poo-ing since 3 days I think.

I feel very cold. Last night I got up feeling SUPER cold in my air conditioned room, so I went out to my living room to sleep. Everyone didn't think it was all that cold. But after that, I didn't feel cold anymore.

I sleep really early, but that doesn't mean I slept alot. Last night was terrible. I think I slept for only 5hours (I slept at 10pm).

No headaches.

--------------------

I don't know if I'm dehydrated, cos' I drank alot of fluid yesterday, but I only went to the toilet twice. The amount I peed was very little.

Anaemic? I just got 3 tubes of blood out of me a couple of days ago for some blood tests, but I doubt that would ever turn me into an anaemic. Besides, I never knew I was one cos' I'm always out playing and never felt weak and faint before.

I only came up with 2 diagnoses, but I don't think any of them are right. Can anyone help me? I don't feel like going to the doctor at some clinic cos' they'll just give me some anitibiotics and ask me to go home and rest. -.-

I feel horrible.

I can't think of a title for this.

Jessica, Shuo and Joan

Something I ABSOLUTELY love doing whenever I come back from Singapore is to meet up with my friends. We update one another, no wait, THEY usually update me on new boutiques, new restaurants, new dramas, new movies etc because I'm always the more toot one. Singapore is very much ALWAYS on the go and there is just continuous upgrading of EVERYTHING! Somehow everytime I come back from NZ, new buildings are up, like the all new VIVOCITY omgomgomg, so I become a tourist over and over again. Haha. Well, I'm not complaining about NZ, I love both NZ and Singapore! 两国都各有千秋 (both countries are good in their own way). YAY! I remembered another 成语! -give myself a pat- HAHA.

our lunch. Please DON'T ORDER the vegetable with century eggs. very 'nua nua'. HAHA. That means mushy.

I met up with Shuo and Joan this afternoon for lunch at 店小二 @ Vivocity. Something VERY VERY hilarious and ridiculous happened while the 3 of us were there. So we were happily enjoying our 5 couse meal (WHICH WAS TOO MUCH FOR US AND WAS VERY SUPER DUPER EXPENSIVE! $22 BUCKS EACH... -.-) when careless me accidentally spilled soup on the table! It was so embarrassing!!!!! So I stood up and hurriedly tried to clean up the mess I created, when suddenly I heard a male voice coming from the back,

"我从远远就看到一个美女需要我的帮助!"
("I saw from afar that a beautiful lady needs my help!")

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

The voice belonged to one of the waiters of 店小二.

Then I kept saying thank you and sorry while he helped me. He continued,

"没有问题! 英雄救美嘛!有没有烫伤还是被汤湿到?"
("Don't worry about it! The hero saves the damsel! Did you scald yourself or spill any soup onto yourself?")

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Joan and Shuo were like SNIGGERING at the other side of the table while I had to take this all by myself. How was I to react lah?!

So I just "Errrrr....." LOL. I was totally SPEECHLESS!

I thought these kind of words would only come out in really exaggerated dramas. But it happened to me! So lame.

When he left I thought everything was over, but NO! He came back with another bowl of soup!

"多一碗汤给你喝!"
("Another bowl of soup for you!")

So I just replied, "Oh.. Er.. 谢谢你!" ("...Thank you!")

At this time, Joan and Shuo were LAUGHING their guts out!!!!!! And then they started making fun of me and him being my SOULMATE. HELLO!?!!??! NO WAY IS HE GONNA BE MY SOULMATE!!!! AHHHH! Save me! I didn't even felt like drinking anymore of that soup.

After we had our fill, I urged the both of them to quickly leave the restaurant. We paid and I was really relieved that I didn't see that guy again. BUT just as we were walking out of the restaurant, he suddenly came up to me and said,

"吃得饱吗?"
("Are you full?")

Shuo said I practically jumped and moved a step backwards while they helped answer the question. We went shopping after that and those 2 girls were teasing me and that he is my 白马王子 (aka Prince Charming). ARGH. SAVE ME.

OKAY. Explanation time. I think the waiter is very nice and friendly and helpful, but he's quite exaggerated and he's kinda scaring me in a way. Imagine if that happened to you. I don't know how you will react, but I was definitely speechless. Haha. You ask me if I will go back to that restaurant again. Well, MAYBE not that branch in Vivocity. HAHA. Oh well! End of story. Some photos taken today!

Oh, the picture at the bottom left hand corner is taken by THAT waiter. Ahh! And no, he's not the one on the top left hand corner.

We also visited CANDY EMPIRE at Vivocity. Boy, there is such a HUGE variety of candies!! The 3 of us went WOW. Haha.

JONATHAN DOMINO-STACKING

When I got home, Janice and Jonathan were preparing a Domino stack. It wasn't quite what we expected it to be, but I thought it was good enough! Great job, the both of you!

SO COLOURFUL.

Last night, Janice and I went to pay Yu Kai a visit at his working place at Causeway Point. He was hired to get people to write their wishes on wishing spheres! These spheres will then be put into the sea between Marina Bay and some place (SORRY I CAN'T REALLY REMEMBER!). Their target is 4000 of these spheres, so if you guys are free, do visit him at his little booth outside Causeway Point and write your wishes down! Janice and I had a whole big sphere to ourselves! YAY! (: (Causeway Point is actually at Woodlands. There are more of these booths elsewhere in SG, so you can go check them out!)

4 ? 17 Dec 06, Mon ? Sun
12 ? 9pm daily
The Centrepoint | Causeway Point | Compass Point | Northpoint | Esplanade Concourse

So go pen your wishes down now!

DOUBLE twenty!

Last night the Eiferians plus little Jonathan went to Long Beach Seafood Restaurant to celebrate both Stephie and Qi's 20th birthdays! Actually, Qi turned 20 on the 1st of December, and Stephie WILL turn 20 on 16th, but because we couldn't celebrate together on their respective birthdays, we decided to have a double celebration! Haha. The camera my mum got for me has got loads of cute borders and frames to play with, so we just WHACKed lah. (:

The 2 birthday girls!

6/7 of Eifer! THAZIN, WE DIDN'T FORGET YOU!!

HAHAHA. This is SUCH a great shot!
Fill in the blanks. Mel and I look retarded actually. LOL.

Traditionally, Eifer would go to Jumbo Seafood Restaurant, whether it's at East Coast or Clarke Quay, for an annual dinner cum get together. But because Stephie got a 15% discount voucher for Long Beach Seafood Restaurant this year, we decided to go have a try there.

In my opinion, I reckon Jumbo still beats Long Beach. Our favourite dish, the all famous CHILLI CRAB, wasn't as fantastic at Long Beach. The sauce wasn't SPICY enough (okay I think I'm getting the non chilli eaters all freaked out!) and there wasn't the taste of coherence. I don't know much about food because I just EAT, but I could taste the difference there. Oh, and the mee sua that we ordered was just plain bee hoon, so I don't know what happened down there. Haha. Now we can declare that Jumbo is still our Number 1 choice! Haha, I sound like I'm advertising for Jumbo. But I think another strong competitor of Jumbo is the No Signboard Seafood Restaurant. It's UBER good too, just that I haven't had a meal there in AGES. So I should go back there one day. That's it for my food review, thank you very much. duh.

3 of our dishes.

The 2 girls got their presents and used them RIGHT after they got it. Hope you guys love the presents! And yes Stephie, yours is only PART 1.

Eifer didn't forget me at all! The long overdue present since JULY was finally handed to me! Gees, girls! I didn't even know I had a present! THANK YOU EIFER! You're the best, and I lurrrve the bag. It's awesome. (:

I was supposed to look retarded and I think I did it effortlessly. HAHA.

MORE crazy photos! I think you guys are getting sick of our faces, but who cares? We enjoyed ourselves THOROUGHLY.

Then we 'surprised' the 2 birthday girls with a birthday cake! Well, surprise is in inverted commas BECAUSE Stephie saw the restaurant waitress preparing the cake. AHHH! They're too smart for us. AWW. But nevertheless, the cake was all good, and the 2 of them each had 2 candles to blow! Stephie accidentally blew off 3 so she's thirty y.o now. HAHA. I'm joking. We lighted the candles once more and let Qi blow 2 again. (:

The cake and the girls.

We, or more like CHUNGIE AND I, were singing the birthday song in 3 versions (ENGLISH, MANDARIN AND CANTONESE. I have to thank my mum for teaching me the canto. version! woohoo!) at the top of our lungs and had everyone staring at us. HAHA. Oh well, getting abit of attention sometimes may be good... hurhur. Hope you girls liked the attention. HAHAHA.

Thazin, this piece was actually left for you! So we didn't leave you out. (:

Jonathan, our photographer of the night. HAHA. SHY.

Sydney Trip Part 1

HEY people! (:

Sorry for the lack of updates... I've been busssy.

As promised, I'll put up some photos on my trip to Sydney. Basically, I had an awesome time at Sydney, and if you all, especially if you like shopping (GIRLS!), 5 days ISN'T enough! Minimum: 1 1/2 weeks. Hahaha! Well, it actually depends what time you get up, what time you leave your hotel and whether or not you can tahan the crazy amount of walking you need to do!!!!

For me, I actually woke up at 7am EVERY MORNING (major major jet lag, I tell you!), but I had to wait for the rest of them to get up before we can start touring around Sydney! But, oh well, I still had fun! :B

DAY 1

We took Freedom Air, the only international flight to Sydney from Dunedin. I MUST ADD THAT THEIR PLANE IS SOOOOOOOOO UBER CUTE!!! Warner Brothers!!

Our cutesey Freedom Air plane!

Reading Tesselating on the plane / mummy / view from the plane! / the cute plane again

Thankfully for us, our cousin, Jermyn, was still in Sydney, and he volunteered to drive us to and from the airport. THANKS, MING! You've been of great help! (:

In his car. I haven't seen so many toys in a car before. Got GF, you see... Haha

We settled for a simple dinner after checking into our 'hotel'. It's actually a rented apartment, but in a hotel. So, we kinda stayed at a hotel, right? Oh, whatever. HAHA. Then during dinner, Janice suddenly exclaimed, "HEY! THIS COKE CAN IS SO UNIQUE!" I looked at it, and I SERIOUSLY don't see its UNIQUE-NESS.

So, is it unique? Please tell me if you see something special about this can of Coke.

DAY 2

On the way to the train station, I took this particular photo. The scenery and all don't exactly look all that pretty, but with Jonathan checking out the sole of his shoes at the corner of the photo, the photo became somewhat interesting. HAHA.

We took the train for the first time! It was... interesting, because the trains are double decked and the train routes... Gosh, you should see how complicated the whole map is!

Sydney train and train station

We went to Market City for a walk, and according to my cousin, it's open only during the weekends. I didn't take alot of photos there, but we found New Zealand Natural ice cream store there! Haha. It's a pity they don't sell Hokey Pokey flavour. Awww.

Janice enjoying her ice cream

Then we headed to Darling Harbour, and visited the Sydney Aquarium! But I think Janice and I had more fun taking photos with the toys at the souvenir shop. Tsk tsk.

Mummy decided we have dinner at Darling Harbour that night! We went to a French restaurant... Wait... I'm actually not sure about this!!! Okay, it's Italian, Haha. ANYWAY, the pasta and pizza we had were so yummy! Too bad I forgot the name of the restaurant. But, I must warn you, the meal actually cost quite a bit. :|

DAY 3

The day started with Jonathan and I playing with this sticky fish toy he got from the souvenir shop at the Sydney Aquarium. It's super fun to play with! Just throw it anywhere and it sticks! Throw it onto the wall, then slowly, the fins of the fish get detached one by one, and the fish will then tumble down against the wall. Haha. Uber fun!

Poor Jon. If only we can give you another companion (a human about your age) to accompany you during your holidays. ): There's only so much we can do. Sorry, lil' brother. 大姐 is a bad 大姐.

A side note: My brother is 11, my sis's 18 and I'm 20 this year. So you see the age gap between my brother and the 2 of us. I try my very best to bring him around during the holidays, but there are times when I can't, and he has to stay home. He gets angry when I do that, but... There's nothing much I can do for him... I feel very helpless, because he's always so lonely and bored.

When I was as old as him, I had my cousins and my sister to accompany me, so I wasn't at all bored during the holidays. In fact, holidays are supposed to be ENJOYABLE and FUN! But somehow, for my little brother, it's the opposite. I advised him to watch some television, play some games, walk AJ, find his friends and so on, but he still insists he is bored whenever I don't bring him out.

Ever since he was a baby, he is always closer to me than to my sister. He used to bully me alot. ALOT. He would hit me and whack me whenever he gets angry with anybody, but I don't hit back, because he's SO young. So I'll just cry at a corner and my sister would hit him back and reprimand him for me. But I never blamed him, because he didn't know what was wrong. Now that he is older, he's still closer to me, but somehow, during this particular holiday, he seems to be more clingy. Maybe it's his age, maybe he wants to be acknowledged, to mix around with older people, and not just sit around at home playing games. I don't know. I just have no idea how I should handle him. He's a nice boy, and a sweet one too. I guess he just wants to spend time with me. Maybe..

Oh well, back to my Sydney trip!

On this day, we visited the Sky Tower!

Up up up to the highest level!

View from the Sky Tower.

We took sticker photos there too!

Sweet.

Boomerangs sold at another souvenir shop. We're such wonderful tourists! HAHA.

Jonathan's portrait. I'M JOKING! It's actually a picture at an optical shop. (:

I also got to drink my favourite-est drink in Australia - Boost! Fruit juices and smoothies and milkshakes are all sooo yummy.

Had your Boost yet?

We also went to the Wildlife Park. Took several photos, but the only photo worth showing - me holding a stick insect! Haha, no, I'm joking. Just that the photos at another wildlife park the next day would be more worth showing!

MY STICK INSECT!

We also did a little bit of shopping along George Street (YAH, SAME AS DUNEDIN!).

A man drawing along busy George Street! He was drawing just using crayons! We saw him drawing for the next few days too! AMAZING!

Janice and I at Myer!

Okay, I think this post is long enough. I need my beauty sleep now. Will continue another time.

Celebrate good times, COME ON!

A toast to everyone!
I think this post is almost 2 weeks late, but I ought to share the good moments. (:

Ben, Josephine, David and my family all went out for dinner at The Terrace on the day Janice and I passed our individual license tests. The restaurant is famous for its stone grilled dishes, so we went there to have a try.

Because there was a miscount in the number of stone grills for our table, so only the ladies had the stone grilled meals. Aww.. Thanks guys! (: Basically the meat comes out raw on the stone grill, and we have to leave the meat on for awhile before we start flipping it to the other side to cook. So, our meal was just HOT HOT HOT the whole entire time. Haha! Even after we finished our meals, the stone was still very warm!

The stone grills! Lamb slabs / seafood platter / chicken / mixed grill

Jonathan tried to 'fry' his fries on my stone grill. Haha!

me drinking from the big bottle / cabernet sauvignon meriot / garlic bread / my temp restricted license

Because EVERYONE knows that I'm a lousy drinker, look how much wine they gave me that night. -.- Oh well, it was for the better, aye? You wouldn't wanna carry me all the way home.. Haha.

Obviously the one on the right is mine

Cheers to all!
