A Game of Thrones

I've got so much to do... I've got anime to watch, drama serials to watch, read finish a book 800 over pages long, read the bible.. So much to do, yet so little time.. I hope I can finish reading the book by early next week, then the rest within few days can finish.. Lol.


The book I'm reading now is A Game of Thrones. Although it is not a book particularly for girls, it is interesting as I continued reading on. It gets more and more exciting and I turn the pages, making me want to read even more.

This author, George R.R Martin, writes in a way where the chapters are named by the characters. So for example, one chapter is named Bran, which means this chapter would be under Bran's perception and how he is thinking.

It is relly interesting because some characters are sooooo good, whilst some are sooooooo evil. The way George R.R Martin writes can make me feel angry sometimes. I've read only 80+ pages, and one chapter made me hate one character already. LOL. The characters can range from 7 years old to old people.. Which makes it even more special. When I finish the book then I'll rate it. Can't exactly rate it yet.. (: It's a fantasy, which I never thought I'd enjoy reading..

Frankly speaking, I haven't heard of this author before, probably I don't read much like many do.. Hahaha. But he is good! Well, won't say much.. Better go back reading. (:(:(:

Lol, there are also foreign versions for this book, which shows this book is realy popular.. This is the version in Taiwan. Very nice book cover too!! Can see the dire wolf on the cover.. So pretty. Lol.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children

The more I think about FF, the more I want to play the game!!! How? But I don't have PS2 here, so it's no use.. Even if I want to play, I'll have to wait till I get back to Singapore.

Was surfing for some FFVII wallpaper.. And I found some really cool ones! The one on the left shows some of the characters in the movie.. Cloud is so pro!! He can fight even when riding his vehicle.. Especially in the tunnel when he fought with the 2 guys with white hair.. So prooo!!! Okay, why am I gushing over him.. And his hair is so cool! Tsk tsk tsk. Sephiroth is scary... -shivers- The artists for this anime is pro pro pro..






I like this picture best! Right from the movie itself. It'll be my desktop wallpaper this week! I want to watch it again.. Man, I'm crazy over anime already.. I still want to borrow more anime!! Naruto is one that I would like to watch.. My friend's gonna lend the series he's got to me.. Yayyyyy.

Am going to Japan instead of Hong Kong.

Mixed feelings with this change.. Cos I wanted so much to go to Hong Kong!! Haha, to mai3 dong1 xi1 chi1 dong1 xi1 (Buy and eat). I know I'll do the same thing in Japan, but I've got to learn Japanese.. From watching anime during this short month in Dunedin. Haha!! Ok, it's not as if my cantonese is all the pro, but I definitely will do better speaking Cantonese.. At least I can understand a bit.

I watched FF Advent Children this morning! Man, it's terrific! The animations and everything.. Too bad I didn't play the game so I didn't quite understand what was going on.. Lol.

Plus she told me she sent the application form for the flat a few months back.. Luckily my mum told me not to believe her.. Cos my other flatmate found the application form in the trash too!!

My flatmate borrowed the HEI1 DE4 $230 previously, and we don't know how to get the money back from her. We ganged up and asked her to sign a 'propsed statement' saying that she owes us how much each. But is it valid? Can we get back our money?

We found lots of stuff that she threw away.. She threw away so much stuff.. Which includes a whole stack of unused blank paper, LOTS of medicine and pills, letters, LOTS of clothes, toys, THE KEY, MY SMALL NOTES REMINDING HER TO PAY ME BACK THE MONEY etc.

Doesn't that mean she isn't coming back anymore?!?!?!

My flatmate and I plan to go to Auckland to look for her and get back the money from her.. But my other friend said it's quite impossible.. BUT WHY!! Why is it not possible?! I think she's psycho, she's sick.. She taking pills to keep herself sane, she's taking pills to slim down.. SHE'S MAD!!

What am I gonna do.. Should I tell my mum.. She'll scold me for being so reckless.. But it's not as if I didn't try getting the money from her.. I HATE HER!!! I seriously haven't hated anyone so deeply before.. It's so unfair!! Why are there such people in this world? My conscious thought says,"WELCOME TO REALITY, JESS."

She bad mouthed about me in front of my flatmates, and if they didn't tell me, I wouldn't know shewas so EVIL! She bad mouthed about my other flatmates in front of me too. My flatmate reckons she wanted us to make war and not believe anyone.. But who ask me to be so sociable.. Talk to everyone.. HAHAHA. I can't believe she told different stories to both my flatmate and me!!!!!

I haven't encountered any cheaters in my life.. Probably because I've been sheltered and taken care of by my family, so nothing serious would happen to me.. Now that I'm all alone in NZ, it finally happened to me. I always thought people who get cheated are really dumb and naive, but I was cheated nevertheless. I feel so.. helpless. I just want my money back, because it's my mum's, and I know very well that she worked really hard for the money.. To provide me for my education, my expenses, my accomodation etc etc etc. I really want to go to Auckland and get the money back. She may not pay back, but I'm sure I will do anything to get back my mother's money. She better watch out. I will not let this slip off my hands.

The long awaited holidays are here!

YAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

To give ourselves a pat on our backs, Claire and I will be playing with fireworks and chatting and drinking (NOT that kind ok..) all night long. It's now sold everywhere in NZ cos it's some celebration.. Can't exactly remember the event name, but ya, most people in NZ would be playing fireworks this whole week! At night, if you're watching FF Advent Children, surfing the net, sleeping, eating or doing whatever, you'll hear BOOM! more than 5 times every hour. Woohoo. I hope Claire charged her camera battery cos I forgot to bring my camMMM!

Well, ANYWAY, exams are finally over and I can start thinking of what to do! No, wait, I've got a list of what I'm gonna do. Okay, so no need to worry liao. I only have to worry about TOMORROW!!! It'll be my first time driving! Oh man! I'm quite sure I'll suck at driving..... You ask me to play Daytona still can, real driving.. Haha.. I don't know.. We'll see.. Tomorrow is judgement day. Lol. Am at the library now, so don't have the mood to blog.. Will blog about some stuff later this week.. I'm just too busy settling some stuff lahhhhh.

3 PAPERS DOWN!

Wham!

3 papers down and 1 to go!!! The good thing is, the last paper is English, which doesn't need much work..

Trying not to be over confident with my Physics exam which just ended 15 minutes ago.. I thought it was really tricky! I think God helped me soooo much during the exams..

Initially I couldn't answer so many questions. I panicked, cos I don't want to fail any subjects (duh!) I checked my answers and I found almost 7 mistakes, so I quickly changed them. I was stuck fo many of the questions in the first few pages, but I thought the last part of the paper was quite ok.

OH! The bad thing about the exam was that I NEEDED TO PEE URGENTLY. I felt the urge to pee when I was only an hour into the paper! (the paper's 3 hours long) I felt soooooooo bad, but I didn't want to leave my seat, cos our exmination hall was in a lecture theatre, and it would be time consuming if I were to walk to the toilet and back again. So I tahan for 2 whole hours until the end of the exam when I rushed into the toilet and let my bladder gooooo...

Another thing was my calculator was in low battary status.. I wanted to change the batteries just last night, but no matter how hard Ben and I tried, the 2 middle screws just don't want to barge. It was really scary, cos the calculator just switched itself off if I don't touch it for only 1 minute (usually about.... 5? I reckon?), and when I try to switch it on, it won't let me do so. Ben told me to twist and bang the calculator so it will work again, and it did work! But halfway during the examination, I was sick and tired of banging the damn calculator (and looking like an idiot who needs to pee like mad), so I put my hand up to alert one of the examiners. Okay, in our university, only 3 models of calculators can be used during examinations, so when I put my hand up, she thought I wanted rough paper for my working. But I pointed at my calculator, and she gave me a buay song face! Damn! It's not as if I brought the wrong calculator model in! So she just came to me and I told her my problem.. She understood my situation (thank God) and said a calculator would be provided, but it would take some time. Ok, so I continued using my terrible calculator. After about half an hour, the same examiner came to me and had a small tiny calculator in her hand.

'Use this first before the calculator comes.'

I was touched! I seriously was! The calculator looked like it belonged to her. It didn't have signs or symbols needed for Physics calculations, but... It was still touching. Haha. When the calculator came, I had difficulties using it man. That calculator (SAME AS JANICE'S!) is so lan!!!! I can't even bring the previous answer to the next calculation, so I had to remember the number! So I just gave up, and used the poor lousy calculator again. Miraculously, I didn't have to slam it on the table or bang it with my palm at all for the rest of the exam. SWEET AS!

Man, Ben just told me he had alot of right answers for Physics.. I got a wrong answer for one of the questions already! He thinks that he can get an A grade, well, for me, I don't know. I'll try not to be too confident, cos if I do, and my grades prove me wrong, I'll be extremely devastated.

I'm just glad that God was there for me all the while during the examination, and I thank God for that. Phew.

*GASP!*

I just checked the tuition fees for international students next year... And I got a shock of my life!!

Get this people, if you wanna do Helath Sciences courses, it's like... 6 digit numbers to finish your whole course.

For example: Medicine. Okay, I think I'll move straight to the CRAZIEST one.

DENTISTRY: NZD$57,750 annually for 4 more years. -hyperventilates even more-

MEDICINE isn't as expensive, but still expensive enough.

I wonder how Mummy's gonna handle this.. ): Maybe I'll need to work and spend less already..



It's still freaking me out. Totally.

OH, and my blog template is so yucky.. I'm planning to revamp both Ad Infinitum's and my blogs during the holidays.. Sigh. I'm not studying again............................................ So useless.

Exams are not over yet, but my friend's so sad....... I just read her blog, she's so sad.. But I cannot do anything for her..

Why must relationships be so fragile? Even though they've been together for a long 3 years, just a sentence 'I don't love you anymore' can just change both of their lives.

It's horrible.

I read her email first. She didn't say much. She just said she was crying as she was typing the email. I went to check her blog, and realised that her heart is broken.. Into millions of pieces.

Relationships can be strong, and can be fragile. it totally depends how both parties handle it. My friend flew back to her home country from NZ.. She knew she would be closer to her boyfriend, but she predicted that they wouldn't be as close as when she was still in NZ.

I just don't want her to bottle everything up. Lock herself at home, not talking to anyone.

Cheer up, my dear friend. Let bygones be bygones............ It really takes time..... It's tough, but you gotta tryyyyy! I'm sure most people have encountered such a plight before in their lives, including me. We just have to be strong, strong, strong. Show them that you'll live better than when you're with him. Never get back with him. NEVERRRRRR. Once a jerk, always a jerk.

I just came back from the Dunedin Hospital.



No, nothing bad happened to me.



In fact, something great happened.


Well, today, the church choir went to the Dunedin Hospital to sing for the patients. We went to different levels in the hospital, and sang along the corridors to entertain the patients. Some of them were eating, alone, some had relatives and friends visiting them, some were watching television programmes etc.

Initially when we started from the maternity ward, no one came to say thank you or show any gratitude that they enjoyed our music. (No, we really don't expect them too anyway.) But as we went higher and higher up the hospital lift, people started saying thank you and that they appreciated our music. I felt really glad and happy that we did this out of nothing, but just to spread the gospel, and also to entertain these patients in the hospital. Well, as Pastor Mo says, some of these patients may have Christian background, but seem to have moved further away from Christianity. Hopefully the songs we sang have touched their hearts and have faith in the Lord again. And to the Christian patients, that we have comforted them and bring them to the familiar songs that they have heard or sang.

Wah, really glad lah. Even though I'm quite stressed out due to my Finals, I'm really happy today. Wooweeeee~ (:(:(: Oh, and my solo's tomorrow! Haha, wish me luck. I haven't written my personal testimony yet.. Never mind, shall do it later.

Guess what! I finally have my wish list! I can't believe it!! Haha, it sounds as if I've had everything that I wanted before this, but I thought I could live without those stuff, so they don't count as something that I want. But now it's different!!

I was trapped in mesmerization (if this word ever exists) when David was playing with his PDA.. ): I want one for myself too! Not quite sure about those specifications for PDA though.. Hehe. I know David's PDA is around NZD$900. Expensive sh*t. I've counted, and for me to be able to afford one myself, I have to stop eating out so often. And if I can eat at home for 2 months, I reckon I can afford a PDA! Yayness. But there's another thing.. I want to save money for my trip to Australia and Hong Kong!! I want to buy more clothes and accessories that I've been missing out here in NZ. Booo.

No matter what, I'll still save money for my PDA. I need to research about it still. I only know that I can surf the net at any Hot Spots, can play songs, play games, store notes, write in Chinese.. Basically it's like a mini computer.. Means it's really useful. Whaha. And b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.

I've got to constantly remind myself how close my exams are. It's too scary to actually think about it. UMAT results will be coming out this week, and I've got my English explanatory speech this coming Tuesday. Wish me luck people! Just don't let me screw this up.

I went for a REAL cell group gathering yesterday! Haha! For the first time! Hahaha, yeah I know I should be going for cell group meetings more often.. Shhh. Haha. But anyhow, I thought I gained alot from just one session of cell group. It's really useful, and I do feel the close knitted-ness (ok, my English is horri-gi-ble..) amongst all my church friends. We do check the bible, so I've learnt some living applications that we derive from the Bible, which is wonderful! We sang songs too, and had a refreshment session after that.. I just think my church friends are all wonderful people! All servants of God. I hope I can learn more from them and be a better Christian. Whahaha.

OOOOOOOOOOOH, I forgot to mention.. Our church choir conductor just asked me to sing solo for our song next Sunday... Firstly, I don't think I sing really well, and I've got stage frights at times. Yes, I know I was in choir back in those Chung Cheng days, but.. The techniques of how to sing properly sorta lost in time.. Hahaha. Well, I've promised that I'll do it already, and I've gotta write a personal testimony for myself on that day. Just hope I'll do well I guess. (:

Turn for the better

I thought I would get to sleep feeling low tonight, but there are so many things I want to announce that my life is great! We just celebrated Hooi Xian's 20th birthday just now, and it was UBER FUN. Surprised her with a chocolatey cake MADE by Joshua (HAHAHA), there was bee hoon and hard boiled eggs too! We had fun playing The Cranium too! Haha, it's this really fun game.. You get to act, whistle, guess words and test your general knowledge! Super fun! Haha, and best of all, the companions.. All from Dunedin Chinese Methodist Church! Had so much fun today. Adding to that, IT SNOWED! WOOHOO! I've long been awaiting for this day to come! Snowing in spring, what a miracle. The night is so beautiful.. I saw many residents running outta their flats shouting, "IT'S SNOWING!!". I was sure they were as excited as I was.. If it continues snowing in an hours' time, Ben promises to bring me up the hill to play snow.. Woohoo. Uber fun. Hehe.

Life's like this.

Sometimes, being confident may not be a good thing. True, many people may agree that optimists who are confident lead happier lives.. But, what if you're confident, for eg, you were confident that you'll score quite well for this test, in the end the marks turn out crappy. Don't you feel like you've been thrown from the peak of the mountain down to sea level? Okay, maybe that's what I call over-confident. Damn, I hate feeling as if I've plunged down a few million feet.. Totally sucks. Oh well, it happens to me so many times.. I just hope I don't get immune to it.. Disappointments after disappointments..

Sorry, the recent posts have been so crappy and saddening.. But I'm trying my best to get back on track, feel happy, and be my old self.. So many problems.. So many thoughts.. Floating in my mind.. Disappointed.

I'm feeling so down now I'm sure I can jump out of my room window. (Just that it's too small and I can't squeeze through it)

Firstly, I just got back my ENGL124 Group Presentation mark and it sucks TOTALLY. How did I do so well in Foundation Year I really don't know. What is wrong with me?! Adding to that, my ENGL124 Summary Test also SUCKED. How you tell me? I really don't wanna live already.

Secondly, I just had my BIOC111 Terms Test this morning. Basically, I mugged like anything in the library for the past 2 weeks. Turns out really tricky.. Got quit a bad feeling about it. ):

This is the LOW LOW LOWWWWW point of my 19th year of my life. And I'm definitely not enjoying it.

Maybe because of my PMS, my results, stress plus all other COFACTORS. Damn, all the Biochem stuff still in my head. Ben is darn happy that the BIOC test is overrr, so I'm really happy for him. Meanwhile I shall mourn over my own predicament..............

Something to ponder about..

Well, there's been this Singapore-Malaysia thing actively spreading around the whole blogsphere, or at least among the Singaporeans and Malaysians, especially after Xiaxue criticised how sucky her trip to KL was. Being a really popular blogger, I'm sure many have read that post. Some may agree with her, and some don't. Well, needless to say, many, and I mean MANY, blogders and bloggers did comment on her KL entry. Thus, stirring up the SIN-MSIA 'war' thingy in the blogsphere.

I mean, come on, abit the childish right? I'm Singaporean, and I do love my country alot. I've also got a number of Malaysian friends, since I actually am studying abroad. I'm pretty sure they don't hate their country. I went to KL in early January this year. Honestly speaking, I didn't really like the place, but I went there to celebrate my friend's birthday. No matter what, I still had fun there, so I shouldn't go criticising about some other country.

It hurts me when people start hurling bad comments about Singapore in some of the blogs. I feel absolutely terrible, because, I'm actually quite used to people praising about how clean Singapore is, how fast we've improved since the olden days, how excellent our public transport system is etc. Then again, some commented that Malaysia stinks, for eg, taxi drivers are dishonest, and I found it disturbing too, because these comments do anger people, especially Malaysians.

I'm not trying to say that we shouldn't comment on Xiaxue's bad experience, but I guess this SIN-MSIA thing has gone way too far. Ever wondered if more and more people start reading and creating blogs, the whole blogsphere would seem so realistic until there would be a real war?! Oh please, don't make that happen. 唇亡齿寒 is all I remember from my 250 成语 book that clearly defines how I should handle this terrible 'crisis'. Singapore and Malaysia are both so close to each other, either by geographical manner or having relatives across the causeway. It is common for people t0 have relatives of another country, but relatives of different families all from the same country? Maybe not that common after all. Some political stuff that I can't be bothered much about have added fuel to the huge flame of hatred between the 2 countries.

Damn, just don't go to war lah. Tolong tolong. And stop all these SG vs MSIA thing too. It's getting on my nerves.

Birthdays and Celebrations!

It's a special day today, because it's Ben's birthday! For the students in Singapore, it's also Teachers' Day, which means they get to celebrate and everything today! Happy Teachers' Day, 教师节快乐！to all the noble teachers of Singapore! Plus, the weather is sooooo wonderful on this especially beautiful day. I could see a ray of sunlight peeking through the small gap between my curtains at 7am! How cool is that? Banana-ly cool. Haha.

A few days ago, I emailed my mama, telling her how I was doing, and added that it was Ben's birthday today. I don't know what's gotten into her, but she replied, and I quote, "enjoy your holidays and give bennie a muck for me for his birthday hahahaha, I think his face will be red like fire!" My jaw DROPPED from 10th floor to Basement 3. I read the email to Ben, and he commented that my mama is drunk. -rofl- But the whole email was weird actually, cos she used words like, "no worries", "ciao" and "hahaha". How spunky can my mama get? Really,no kidding man. Mamas these days.. Totally different from their mamas - our Ah Mas. OH! It was my Ah Ma's birthday yesterday! How cool is that?!

It's been birthdays after birthdays for me this week. Last night we enjoyed company with my ex hostel mates back in El Nido, and of course, the matron himself, since he was the birthday MAN. (: It was really fun, drinking and munching goodies at his place before heading to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. Pete and his friends (one of them being a FY teacher) were really jovial and totally enjoying themselves, and it was really interesting getting to know more about Kiwi culture.

We were talking about getting older and ages, and we were forced to guess who was older between Pete and Matt(the FY teacher). As Pete said, by the end of the day, we'd make a friend and an enemy! LOL. But in the end, they told us the truth, and obviously, I got the answer right! Haha. Pete's other friend Jackie told us that she was older than both of them! Our eyes were literally popping outta our eye sockets, cos' she definitely didn't look THAT old, or so we thought. Pete joked that she's had 5 face lifts. Haha. The night was filled with our laughters and singing and jokes. Really entertaining night.

What's up next? Ben's birthday, of course. OH I forgot to mention! Today is a special day too, because..

Holi, Holidays!

I watched The Island last Saturday! Yes, I know to all you people in Singapore, we are a buncha slow pokes, right? Fancy watching The Island at the end of August. Gees! Blame NZ and their slow poke-ness okay.

Well, anyway, the show is darn good! It's science fiction, but still coooooooooooooooool. (: I actually didn't think that Scarlett Johanson was all that pretty when I see her on mags and on TV. But after that show, I reckon she's quite hot! Dang it, I sound lesbian-ish. =
Ben thought the whole idea of The Island was interesting, but not feasible. He gave the show 3.75 stars out of 5, and I'll give them more credit - 4 out of 5! Steph agreed that it was a great show to catch!

Oh, and did I mention that it's the holidays, FINALLY?! Wah lau eh, wait for frigging 2 months for this short holidays man. I better make full use of it (100 and 1%)! In fact, the fun's just started people! Today I'll be yum char-ing with Claire, and go shopping! Not that George Street's all that magnificant, but that's all we've got here. Oh well, I don't complain, cos' the weather is frigging gooddd! Spring's almost here (or is it here already?) and the sun's shining brightly in the clear, blue sky. This reminds me of my primary school essay writing. We always had to memorise those really cheeem sentences to rojak into our compositions. Like, "drips of perpiration rolled down my cheeks, I felt as if I was in a microwave oven". -toot!- Now they sound so CHEESY! LOL.

Tomorrow, we'd be celebrating Peter's (the matron of my hostel last year) birthday at Kwang Chou (Not sure how they actually spell that). Thursday is OUR BELOVED BEN'S BIRTHDAY! He'll be 18! 18 man! Haha! From then he can legally watch R18 shows, buy 4D, go chiong, er, not exactly what he really wants to do though. Haha. I'm gonna bring him to watch SIN CITY, which is R18! Eh, I'm not the bad influence okay! HE wanted to watch it. Anyhow, I heard the show's really good! Rating freeeking high also. A must-watch show, I reckon. We should throw him a big party! AHH! I can't wait. Haha, well I doubt he would read my blog cos' he's busy playing his own game, so I can babble about anything I want to do on his birthday here! Okay, I think I better take some precautions though. -ROFL- Alright, I better prepare for my yum char session with Claire...

Otago University Graduands Parade!!

There was a road closure along the road to town on Saturday. Ben and I didn't know what was going on, but we saw so many funny looking vans! I went to check about it on the City Of Dunedin website, and I reckon its the Otago University Graduands Parade! It's fun just looking at all the cool vans so nicely done and you can see loads of people standing along the whole road just waiting to take photos of these vans. Ben was frigging hungry, so we missed the parade. But, fortunately, I spotted some of them on the way home!

Well, sadly, I'm just talking about yesterday - Sunday, 21st August 2005. Today's slightly chilly, but I'm cool about it. I don't ask for much, don't have to give me a whole month of good weather (if can of cos can lah!).

All about puke

It's Saturday night again, but since today is special (17th month together!), Ben and I went out for dinner. Well, another reason is because Josephine(Ben's sis) has to attend a friend's birthday party, so she didn't cook. So, back to the point. On most Saturdays, the Kiwis here go wilddddd. It's clubbing, pubbing, plucking off letter boxes, drinking, and YES, HURLING.

!!!!!!!!!

Well, when you hurl, you throw up. When you throw up, you puke. When you puke, you vomit. And when you vomit, it's utterly disgusting.

As Ben and I stepped out of my flat hand in hand, we heard noises along the main road. Ben held my hand tighter, reassuring me that I was safe in his hands (HAHAHA). We halted our footsteps, stood in the dark, and saw 3 rowdy Kiwi guys running along the road in shorts, running like mad cows of New Zealand, and started attempting to pull off my neighbour's fence.

-TOOT!-

But, they gave up and continued running towards the same direction, and making a fool of themselves. "Too weak lah they all," Ben grimaced. So we continued walking to town.

On our way back, horror came. We had to siam away from patches of VOMIT. "Eeeewww! Ben there's another patch in front!" I exclaimed as I held my breath and walked past those gross stuff. There was a patch in front, then yet another one about 20 metres away. Both Ben and I noticed a pattern.

"I think all these come from the same person," Ben explained and laughed. And when we came to the last patch of the puke pattern, Ben laughed out loud again. The last patch didn't have food particles in there, only alcohol!

"That guy must be no more food to puke already!"

Yeah, it's gross to actually go take notice of vomit, but we just took glances cos we needed to siam, right? So anyway, we noticed the pattern cos they all ALIGN! It was really funny. NONONONO, it was really YUCKY!!

The Whiny Post. Beware!

Got nothing much to blog about these few days, just that I've got English role-play to do... So will be busy especially this week. Pray that I'll be able to go through this tough period people!

The worst part is I'm getting lazier again.. Not revising and studying.. All I do is stay online to blog surf, friendster surf, surf surf surf, surf 死 me.

I JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR MID TERM HOLIDAYS which is in 2 weeks time. -faints- It's still long before I can relax. Was thinking of going for a short trip to Australia or Christchuch or Auckland, but I'm BROKE. -groans-

I know I sound whiny and everything, but just let this post be written by a whiny princess. I wanna go shopping in Australia, get their warm sunshine instead of rain and darn wind here in Dunedin. You guys don't know how terrible this place is. I think I can survive here provided I get holidays to the other cities in NZ, or Australia, or better - SINGAPORE. Back home. The Dunedin City Council should try to do something to make this place filled with good shopping and FUN. This place is DEAD DEAD DEAD, I tell you.

And there's such a limited number of restaurants for me to dine at! When we have to dine out, we have to take a longgggg time to decide where to eat. Why? Because we have already visited most of the restaurants in town! If you introduce some ulu-fied restaurant at South Dunedin, we won't be able to go there, because NO TRANSPORT.

Ah, transport. One of the best thing Singapore has. NOT Dunedin, definitely. Buses don't come as frequently, taxis' meter jumping every 15 secs. No mummy, no car. No license. PATHETIC!

The only entertainment I get here is television, internet, music, ben, choir practices in church. Period. Nothing interesting. So sometimes I feel like blogging, but nothing to blog about!!

ROARRRRRRRRRRR! Someone get me outta here!! I'm suffocating in Dunedin! Who ever said this place is WONDERFUL? Open your eyes, please?! It's cold, windy, boring, no good shopping. What's good? Actually not much, if there is any. Oh yes, there are beaches here. People wear bikinis and put sun tan lotion and lie on their beach mats to tan. In Dunedin, if beach-goers wear like that, they'll FREEZE. Can anyone see that I'm dying here?!

I have to check the weather EVERYDAY so I can decide what clothes I can wear for the day. I hate it when one day the sun is out, nice weather and everything, the next day, it's rain rain rain, wind wind wind, and it doesn't just stay for a day. We'll have the terrible weather for 3-4 days consecutive. BAD. I want to sell my old clothes away so I can have space to buy new clothes. But this city just doesn't want me to spend money on new clothes.

Luckily this week's weather is better than last week's. Last week had pictures of clouds, clOUDS, CLOUDS, CLOUDS. So I should be thankful that I'm getting better weather now. But if I were to think long term... I'd rather not.

I don't get why tourists like to come to this place. All they can see is the all famous clock tower in the university, some Albatross (a kind of bird) colony, a super old castle, Cadbury factory (okay, that could be a nice place to visit! :P) and some other stuff.

Ask students of Dunedin, I'm sure most of them dread being here, especially people from cities (REAL CITIES) like Singapore and Hong Kong.

To tell you the truth, I HATE THIS PLACE, but I just can't do anything about it. Oh great.

Remember the National Day entry about Ben and his ridiculous hand gesture, shouting 'LOCAL FOOD!' in the overseas video clip? It was broadcast all over Singapore yesterday on National Day! And Jonathan(my little brother) thought he saw ME on TV!

I just saw one of my friends' nick, and it reads, "-+=(insert name yourself)=+- = (insert some clan name or whatever crap) = Why so many gers got stead le ( Part 4 of 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999).

Firstly, when I saw that nick of his, I was disgusted. Why? Because he sounds super desperate! It's gross to even see such a nick! It's vomit-inducing, actually. I didn't go tell him that I found it gross, but somehow I think he hasn't grown up since secondary school. If he cannot find a girlfriend for himself, why blame on the girls that have been taken? This just shows that he doesn't have the ability to 'jio' ('chase' in Hokkien) girls. Sheesh.

Next, I thought of the word 'stead'. I think I haven't used that word since I left secondary school! Anyway, I don't know if you feel the same way, but don't you think 'stead' sounds Ah Lian and Ah Beng-ish? Imagine someone coming over to you (male or female will do) and asking you, "XXX, will you be my STEAD?"
WHAT THE......... If Ben ever says that to me, I'll just pengsan ('faint' in Hokkien) lah.

Another one, "SHE'S MY STEAD LAH! WHAT YOU WANT HUH?!"
Ah Beng-ish not?! Totally agree with me right? I know! Why can't we, I mean THEY, just use 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' instead of 'stead'? They aren't vulgarities you know? -rolls eyes-

Oh, and some people like typing 'you' as 'euu', 'love' as 'lub', AnD lIkEs To TyPe LiDaT n ExPeCt PpL 2 b AbLe 2 UnDeRsTaNd WaT tHe hEoW tHeY r WrItInG aBt. And why bother doing that when it takes so much of your time? For your information, I took almost a minute to finish typing that particular sentence. Damn act cute and bimbotic can?!

It would sound more sophisticated to call your partner your boyfriend or girlfriend or just your date, rather than stead. I wouldn't be too happy if Ben tells his friend, "Jessica is my stead." Hey, it's not internationally known that 'stead' means your boyfriend/girlfriend you know. We're both in NZ now, and if Ben says I'm his stead, they would go,"What?" Yeah?

I don't blame those students attending secondary school to go calling their partners steads and tYpInG lIkE tHaT, I'm just pin pointing on those who have already GRADUATED from secondary school, and even JUNIOR COLLEGE! Torlong lah.

what curry chicken for National Day again?!!

Tomorrow the Otago Singapore Club (OSC) here in Dunedin would be celebrating Singapore's National Day, 3 days earlier to be exact. I can't wait!!! The committee has come up with a list of local food that we can cook, taking in consideration the limited ingredients we can get here. =\ I will be in charge of grilling chicken nibbles (Okay, that's definitely not local food, but it's a popular snack! HAHAHA.). Besides, it's darn easy man. The chicken nibbles are already marinated, so I just need ovens! Oh, and I heard there would be yummy food like chicken rice, agar agar, bee hoon, rojak, carrot cake, dumplings, koniyaku and so much more!!

Kill me please! I can't wait till tomorrow! Gimmi the food now! Such a wide variety of food! Now you understand how deprived I am here in NZ.

Ben (aka THE co-president of OSC) is supposed to somehow or other get a pot of chicken curry for tomorrow's potluck! He is so gonna get whipped tomorrow lah, because he hasn't got a recipe (duh!), and he's planning to just bring a large pot to New Dynasty Restaurant (this chinese restaurant i don't really like) and ask them to do it for him!!

WHAT KIND OF PRESIDENT IS THIS TELL ME?!

New Dynasty Restaurant is owned by Chinese, as in China Chinese. Please, do their chicken curry taste any similar to Singapore's curry chicken? (HEY, is it Chicken Curry or Curry Chicken, and is it Fish Head Curry or Curry Fish Head?!??! I AM SO CONFUSED!) A straight no-no from me, dude. You just gotta somehow come to the potluck session with a pot full of authentic SINGAPORE CHICKEN CURRY. Giddit dear?! Or else just come EMPTY HANDED if you like? People would just have a different opinion of you that's all. -rofl- Ooookay, I'm gonna get screwed by him if he reads this.

Well, what do I miss most about Singapore? I think it would be that weather (YES! Let me sweat like a pig! I don't mind!!), local food (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA), friends and family, the super public tranport system, being able to wear my shorts and mini skirts.. ): If Dunedin gives me good weather, I'd be a quarter happier. I had my BIOL 115 lab again this morning. This time, we had to dissect...

Nah, nothing too gruesome, it's just the lower limb of a deer. (: In addition, the limb has already been chopped into 3 pieces for us, so the limb ain't too long to us to handle. It's cooool! Know why? Cos' my partner did not come again. This is the 3rd Bio prac we have, and the technical assistant (old lady) who was taking our attendence said, "Ooh, that is bad." or something along that line. Tsk!

So I did the dissection by myself, with a little help from a demonstrator who is a super nice guy! Haha, please don't assume that I'm interested in him or whatever, cos he's a middle age, flabby and hairy man. -rofl- Got to see those parts of a synovial joint that we learnt in our lectures, like the menisci, collateral and cruciate ligaments etc. Damn fun I tell you! Especially when I am in charge of the whole dissection thingy. Woohoo! :D I sound sadistic, aye? Haha, as compared to our rat dissection, this is way better, because we had to look at the intestines of the rat's. I tell you, IT STINKS, TOTALLY!

Initially, I wanted to take some photos of the dissection today, but there wasn't anyone I know who could help me take the photos, since my gloves were stained with deer blood. Eew right? Yeah, so too bad. I doubt many of you won't even wanna think about it too. ;)

After all those dissection crap, we examined some specimens of some real humans' body parts. Let me say this, they stink WORSE than the deer's lower limb. Simply because they seem to be decomposing, all brownish and all. We saw joints that had metal replacements and all, and yeah, yummy.

On my way to being a great cook

Last Saturday morning, I got so bored that I decided to surf for local recipes. Whilst site hopping, I chance upon a blog which brought me to http://food.asia1.com.sg/ Tried to look for a dish that I can cook here in New Zealand, without having to buy some of the ingredients that I can't get it here. And then I found claypot rice!

Wah! Claypot rice is something I really like. :9

Scrolled down and looked at the ingredients needed and the method, and it wasn't that tough! So, I decided to give it a try! The ingredients that I didn't get(lazy to go buy them.. wah raus the asian store is how freaking far can!) were the Chinese mushrooms and salted fish.

In actual fact, it was quite easy to do! I just followed the instructions carefully. Yah, like REALLY carefully. 3 tablespoons of dark soy sauce = 3 tablespoons of dark soy sauce. Cannot play play ah, already had a bad experience when baking muffins with Janice. 100g of flour (normal), 140g of flour (our style), heck. 200g of chocolate? Never mind lah, 250g should be okay! Turned out 'real good'.

So, back to my story. It took me less than an hour (excluding marinating the chicken) to finish my project. And I was successful!!! I seriously thought I would fail, but no, Jessica The Great has come up with a rice cooker full of yummylicious claypot rice!!

Want to post some pictures of the claypot rice up, but it's 4:44am (wah, zun man!) and I'm really lazy now.. Don't even want to get the photos out of my handphone. Lol. And the reason why I'm still awake is because the 乌鸦 flatmate had a SLEEPOVER with her beloved friend, and they were talking so loudly I was awaken by their horrendous yakking. You know what? I'm going to confront her tomorrow. Luckily her friend has left (I think), or else I'll really go knock on her door at 330am and scold her. When will people learn to be considerate. Sigh. I just had Milo and a whole packet of Ritz, and now I cannot go to sleep or else I'll get fat.

Anyway, I'm so into all the cooking and baking! But sadly, I'm studying now, and I can't play too much. So the culinary skills gotta wait. Oh! I've got holidays in a month's time. Yes, I'll do it then! Muahaha. Okay, I'll try to study for now. 死乌鸦！臭乌鸦！
